Glad to see people actually taking these off road.

Alway's bring's a smile to my face seeing newer Landies being used properly.

I feel the need to counter the mall rover image, the last pic is mine.

Most excellent!
I've taken the LR4 off road once or twice. It not being my car, and the fact that most trails near us are heavy with paint-destroying brush, I tend not to get too adventurous.
Also it's a Land Rover with 100k miles and nothing's gone wrong yet. That makes it possibly the least reliable vehicle in existence.

Is it the Diesel or the V8? I'm not to familiar with the LR4 however it's light years ahead of my D2 in terms of reliability and my D2 just did a 1250 mile trip to Maine this summer without a single issue.

This is so strange...
I like it.

We only got the V8 with optional Supercharger here in the states.
It's been great thus far, but that's why I'm worried.

I don't know the V8 in the LR4 doesn't have the same issues as mine so you should be alright.

More concerned about general electrical gremlins. Especially with the air suspension.
But, again, mostly the body damage part.

The air suspension is a problem and I don't know if there is a coil spring conversion kit yet (I ripped my air suspension out the first chance I got). We have a guy in our club with an LR3 and he's had a few electrical gremlins but nothing that would leave him stranded on the side of the road. If you're worried about body damage you can start looking into upgrading the bumpers and adding rock sliders, I don't know if there is any LR4 stuff yet but maybe the LR3 stuff will fit.
This is all dependent on if you really want to go that far, I've been through some pretty rough terrain and there was little to no risk of body damage (couple of scratches but not deep). You only really start fucking your truck up when you act stupid or take it through forests and are forced to brush up against trees. Most off road parks have green and blue trails that will give you a challenge but you won't run the risk of destroying your vehicle (unless again you're really stupid about it).
